Description
Melpha is a high-ranking priestess in a fundamentalist religious sect based in Gainos, known for her unwavering devotion and spiritual leadership. Her grandmother, Cardinal Dantan, the sect’s leader, compels her to enter a martial tournament to preserve their religious authority, leveraging Melpha’s reputation as a compassionate “saint” revered by followers for her altruism, despite her inexperience in combat.

Her mastery lies in white magic, specializing in healing and invoking divine retribution through ritualized “Holy Poses” prescribed by ancient scriptures. These poses prove potent against undead foes but require her to adopt physically suggestive postures, sparking acute embarrassment during public performances. While her sect frames the rituals as trials of humility, modern practitioners secretly bypass the poses to channel divine power—a truth kept hidden from outsiders.

Melpha stands 166 cm with blonde hair and blue eyes, clad in a blue cap bearing her sect’s symbol, a long blue dress over a white bodysuit, and brown boots. An alternate incarnation features a blue open-sided dress paired with white gloves and garters, alongside slight adjustments to her physical proportions.

Raised sheltered within the church, her early ventures beyond its walls expose profound naivety: she surrenders her garments to a shivering stranger, empties her purse for starving children, and heals a sick elder with a Holy Pose, enduring bystanders’ stares despite her discomfort. These acts underscore her struggle to reconcile devout duty with personal unease.

She venerates the angelic figure Nanael as a divine emissary. Later, under Queen Aldra’s regime, she adopts the title “Radiant Priestess,” aligning her public role with her sect’s doctrines. Her story remains confined to these core elements, with no expanded exploration of her post-tournament endeavors or evolution in spin-offs or ancillary media.
