Description
Sakura Inami is a 16-year-old human female born on April 29th, with blood type A and standing 159 cm tall. She is the second daughter of the Inami family, to whom Mirai Kuriyama owes a debt from past events. Her older sister, Yui Inami, was killed by Mirai during a confrontation with a Hollow Shadow youmu, an event that fundamentally shapes Sakura's initial motivations.

Sakura spent her childhood alongside Yui and Mirai. Unlike them, she lacked innate abilities as a Spirit World Warrior and contributed by cooking. After Yui's death, Sakura initially showed Mirai no hatred, even offering her a sandwich during mourning. However, she later traveled alone to Nagatsuki City specifically to pursue Mirai, driven by a desire for revenge.

Her appearance features shoulder-length brown hair typically tied in odango buns and red-pink eyes. She first wears a greenish-yellow military jacket, a striped blue-and-black shirt, white shorts, and red sneakers with black socks. After reconciling with Mirai, her clothing shifts to casual styles like a faded red top with shorts. She also wears a dark blue sleepshirt printed with "BISCUIT" and occasionally her school uniform: a light blue sailor dress with a loosely tied sky blue sweater.

Early on, Sakura exhibits a monotonous speech pattern and near-emotionless demeanor, masking internal turmoil. Her fixation on avenging Yui manifests as a ruthless pursuit of Mirai. This single-mindedness leads her to wield a mysterious spear granting combat capabilities rivaling Mirai's, despite her near-nonexistent innate powers. Her carelessness is evident when she borrows the weapon without ascertaining its origins or owner, inadvertently aiding Miroku Fujima's schemes.

Her softer nature surfaces as the story progresses. She harbors regret over her actions toward Mirai but initially suppresses these feelings to prove herself a capable warrior. After a confrontation where Mirai intervenes to prevent the spear from consuming her, Sakura reconciles with Mirai. They begin living together, and Sakura adopts a calmer disposition with deadpan humor, engaging in light pranks like pushing Mirai onto a sleeping Akihito. She displays subtle care through actions such as kicking Mirai into a bathtub out of frustrated concern. Though indifferent toward academics, she reluctantly attends school at Mirai's insistence.

In the film sequel, Sakura becomes intensely protective of Mirai after the latter loses her memories. She initially prevents Mirai from interacting with Akihito, acting on his request to shield her from past trauma. This causes Mirai distress, but Sakura reassures her by emphasizing their long-standing friendship since childhood. When shadow youmu pursue Mirai, Sakura actively defends her. By the film's conclusion, she participates in school activities like the tennis club with Mirai and Ai Shindou, signaling restored normalcy.

Sakura's combat abilities stem primarily from her spear, which absorbs essence from defeated youmu to grow stronger. The weapon's origins remain unknown, and its power drained her vitality during use. This dependency nearly resulted in the spear consuming her before Mirai's intervention.

Her name "Sakura" means "cherry blossom" or can be interpreted as "blossom" and "good, virtuous, respectable," while "Inami" translates to "that one" and "wave, breaker."
