Takeru Noto, alias Juggernaut, is a male Third Generation pyrokinetic affiliated with Special Fire Force Company 2. Born May 30 in New Qingdao, he stands 203 cm tall and weighs 85 kg, with brown hair. He habitually wears multiple layers of clothing to appear larger and evade attacks, later incorporating protective Company 2 bunker gear during missions. Severe battle injuries resulted in metal prosthetics replacing his right forearm and part of his leg.
His pyrokinetic ability generates flames shaped into weaponry, primarily missiles and explosives, exhibiting immense destructive force capable of shaking buildings and blasting concrete. However, he suffers from pyrophobia—a paralyzing fear of fire despite inherent resistance—which causes panic and indiscriminate firing. When calm, he demonstrates refined control, creating miniguns, bombs, and adjustable-sized missiles. His fighting style emphasizes long-range bombardment but shifts to close combat when necessary, risking self-injury. His nickname "Juggernaut" combines "Jagaimo" (potato) and his surname.
Initially introverted and conflict-averse, he joined the Fire Force seeking safety among fire-suppression specialists. He exhibits nervousness, dislikes praise, but possesses strong loyalty to comrades and passionate expertise in potato farming, often exclaiming phrases like "What's that gotta do with my taters!" During the Rookie Fire Soldier Games, anxiety triggered uncontrolled missile barrages that disrupted the event. Missions showcased his resilience, enduring physical disintegration through layered clothing regeneration and aiding allies like Shinra Kusakabe against the White-Clad cult.
Significant development occurred during the Nether Investigation arc. Partnered with Tamaki Kotatsu under Commander Hajiki, he confronted White-Clad operative Orochi after Hajiki's death. Overcoming his fear to protect Tamaki, he engaged Orochi in a brutal fight, losing clothing layers and sustaining severe injuries. In a decisive act, he charged while compressing an ever-larger explosive in his hand. Orochi severed his forearm, but he detonated the bomb, defeating her before losing consciousness. Rescued by Tamaki and evacuated, he survived with permanent forearm and leg prosthetics.
Later, he adapted to his prosthetics, participating in critical missions like attempts to destroy a mystical pillar. During the Great Cataclysm—an apocalyptic event orchestrated by the Evangelist—he perished but was restored when Shinra Kusakabe manipulated time to reset reality. He shares a positive relationship with his mother, reuniting with her during the Chinese Peninsula mission where he investigated sabotage of family potato fields and combated local threats like giant worms.
