Description
Arisu Yotsuba, a 13-year-old heir to Yotsuba Enterprises and student at Nanatsubashi Academy, adopts the identity of Cure Rosetta when transformed. Her civilian form showcases light brown hair styled in curled buns with green clover accessories, dark orange eyes, and outfits blending frilly white-and-yellow designs with summer clover motifs. As Cure Rosetta, her orange twin-tails and clover-adorned attire—a yellow-green dress with puffed sleeves, scalloped skirt, and clover-cuffed boots—emphasize her vibrant hero persona.
Trained from childhood in martial arts, music, and cooking, Arisu’s sheltered upbringing fractured when elementary school bullying led her friend Mana to intervene. Arisu’s subsequent retaliation with her combat skills left lasting guilt, forging a reserved, protective nature marked by calmness, gentleness, and social unease. Though she hesitates to wield strength, her loyalty ignites fierce anger when friends are endangered, often followed by remorse.
Discovering the Pretty Cures through Clover Tower’s security footage, Arisu erases the evidence to shield their secret. Reluctant to fight due to past trauma, she joins the team after meeting her fairy partner Lance, transforming via the Lovely Commune to spell "L-O-V-E" and activate the Cure Lovead, her hair and attire shifting dynamically.
Specializing in defense, Cure Rosetta deploys the barrier-technique "Rosetta Wall" with the chant "Stiff and Strong, Rosetta Wall," alongside the clover-shaped Rosetta Reflection for purification. Advanced abilities include Rosetta Balloon’s light ribbons or Lance projections, while collaborative attacks like Lovely Force Arrow and Royal Lovely Straight Flush utilize weapons such as the Love Heart Arrow and Magical Lovely Pad.
Her closest bonds include childhood companions Mana and Rikka, sustained through monthly tea parties, and her steadfast butler Sebastian. A rivalry simmers with Reina Itsutsuboshi, who perceives Arisu as a competitor. Character growth centers on balancing pacifism with protective combat, notably in episodes where she confronts her fear of violence to safeguard others.
Beyond her primary storyline, Arisu appears in a non-serial movie gaining a wedding-themed Super Mode (Engage Mode) and a HappinessCharge Pretty Cure! cameo celebrating the franchise’s anniversary. Unused concepts originally included an older brother, Hiromichi, later excised for narrative cohesion.
Clover motifs underscore her role as a guardian of luck and protection, mirrored in her name: "Yotsuba" (four-leaf clover) paired with "Alice," evoking noble Wonderland echoes. This duality aligns her defense of emotional purity against forces born from selfish desires.
