Description
Dr. Kenmochi adopted Hosuke Sharaku as an infant, entrusted to him by a mysterious woman with a third eye on her forehead. In exchange for raising the child, she promised him a long and prosperous life, but was immediately struck by lightning and killed. Kenmochi raised Sharaku as his own son. He observed a third eye forming on the boy's forehead as he grew, coinciding with high intelligence and malevolent behavior. To suppress these traits, Kenmochi applied a cross-shaped bandage over the third eye, resulting in Sharaku exhibiting a docile, childlike personality.

A scientist and archeology professor, Kenmochi is dedicated to uncovering ancient mysteries. His work involves investigating ruins connected to the three-eyed civilization, like the Jumyoin residence in Kagoshima, where he sends Sharaku and Chiyoko Wato to examine artifacts. He demonstrates a rational, analytical approach, often prioritizing scientific inquiry over emotional considerations. This reflects his meticulous attention to detail and systematic research methods.

Kenmochi carries deep guilt from a past incident where a super-soldier experiment he was involved in resulted in numerous deaths. This guilt motivates his commitment to developing defensive technologies, including plans to create an ultimate weapon to protect humanity from threats like alien invasions. He is determined to rectify past failures through scientific advancement.

His relationship with Sharaku evolves from paternal care to conflict as Sharaku's third-eye powers pose increasing dangers. Kenmochi once attempted to surgically remove Sharaku's third eye to permanently neutralize his abilities, believing it would prevent harm. He also intervenes during crises, such as persuading Sharaku to deactivate the spear-like weapon, the Red Condor, which could trigger ancient destructive forces. Kenmochi's decisions reflect a struggle between protecting his adoptive son and mitigating the global risks posed by Sharaku's connection to the three-eyed civilization.

Kenmochi later investigates ancient artifacts like metal pieces excavated from ruins, identifying them as over 8,000 years old. When assembled, these pieces form a giant devil robot named Garon, created by the three-eyed civilization. This discovery underscores his ongoing role in deciphering the legacy of Sharaku's ancestors and addressing the threats their technology poses. Kenmochi's actions consistently emphasize dedication to scientific responsibility and the containment of ancient powers.
