Description
Dian, a male Maine Coon Jewelpet tied to the obsidian gemstone, embodies self-control and a resilient spirit. His light blueish-gray fur contrasts with white paws and a fluffy chest, complemented by iron-gray jewel-like eyes. Adorned with a gold earring on his left ear and a gold pearl necklace holding a black orb, he dons a dark blue, purple, and red Jewel Cloak when wielding dark magic. His corrupted form, Dark Dian, manifests as darker fur streaked with black stripes, grotesque wings, elongated claws, and piercing yellow eyes with crimson sclerae. His human guise, Andy Samael, sports spiky hair and a casually loose blue collared shirt.

Once a rebel opposing human-Jewelpet alliances due to perceived exploitation, Dian’s radical actions led to imprisonment in an icy crystal. Freed by his sister Diana, he pursued vengeance by corrupting Jewel Charms and manipulating others under his alias, Andy Samael, even scheming to seize the Jewel Stick. Overuse of dark magic twisted him into Dark Dian, consumed by aggression and a drive to obliterate humanity. Collective efforts of humans and Jewelpets eventually redeemed him, reintegrating him into Jewel Land.

Later narratives reshape his journey: trauma from witnessing a Jewelpet’s creation renders him mute until gradual recovery alongside his human partner Leon, fostering a supportive bond. Another arc casts him as an idol entangled in romantic tensions with Diana and Garnet, culminating in reconciliation. A spin-off casts him as a cunning card-game rival who traps opponents in cards, though defeat forces a retreat with vows of retaliation. Post-redemption, he emerges as a vegetable sommelier with acute olfactory senses, temporarily disrupted by external interference.

His magic specializes in dark arts, mental manipulation, and fortifying resolve. Unique skills include solo revival of Jewel Charms, bending card-game rules to evade strikes, and casting curses, amplified by his Obsidian Eyes Power. Evolving from a vengeful strategist to a humorous, compassionate ally, he retains occasional bluntness. Relationships underscore protectiveness toward Diana, camaraderie with allies, and fleeting romantic ambiguity.

Background cameos feature him in a film crowd and a vibrant samba event. Notable trivia highlights obsidian’s historical use as ancient tool material, his distinction as the first Jewelpet with a human alias, and his singular sibling bond with Diana within the franchise’s lore.
