Description
Jun Kamigamo, a middle school student, works part-time at a cafe during summer vacation while deliberately presenting as male through masculine attire and boyish mannerisms. This gender concealment creates persistent tension, with only ghosts Arashi and Kaja Bergmann initially aware of her true identity. Later, her sister Kyoko and modeling friend Yoko join the secret. Coworker Hajime Yasaka remains oblivious, frequently provoking Jun by commenting on her feminine traits or initiating invasive roughhousing; she retaliates with physical violence. Their dynamic alternates between camaraderie during shared tasks like grocery runs and conflict from Hajime’s accidental boundary violations.
Jun resides with her older sister Kyoko, a model, and later hosts Kaja. She handles most household chores and urgently hides feminine items—photos, school uniforms, underwear, makeup—when Hajime visits to avoid exposure. Kyoko’s teasing about Hajime adds domestic pressure. Professionally, Jun balances cafe duties with modeling, occasionally wearing feminine clothing during cafe events where her appearance draws customer attention despite her ongoing disguise.
Supernaturally, Jun forms a "connection" with ghost Kaja, enabling joint time travel to World War II-era Japan. The initial journey traumatizes her, making her reluctant to repeat it, though she later aids smaller time jumps at cafe owner Sayaka’s request or to assist Kaja. Her ghostly involvement deepens as Arashi eventually discovers her gender.
Pragmatic and conflict-averse, Jun adheres to social norms but reacts intensely to specific stressors like insects, triggering destructive hysterics at work. She maintains a calm exterior yet struggles under her dual identity’s emotional weight. During the second season, she develops romantic feelings for Hajime, complicating interactions as she hides her gender while navigating jealousy and vulnerability. Her secret is revealed to the audience in the first season’s fifth episode, though Hajime remains unaware. Background notes include her acting skills and past long hair before adopting her masculine presentation.
