**Noritoshi Kamo** designates two separate figures linked to the Kamo family in Jujutsu Kaisen.
**Noritoshi Kamo (Ancestor)**
This figure existed over 150 years ago in the Meiji Era, branded history’s most malevolent jujutsu sorcerer. His original persona is obscured after Kenjaku, an ancient curse user transferring brains between bodies, possessed him. Under Kenjaku’s control, he conducted atrocities that defiled the Kamo legacy. He managed a temple where a woman bearing human-spirit hybrids sought sanctuary. Kenjaku, inhabiting Noritoshi, imprisoned her and enforced nine pregnancies followed by abortions, spawning the nine Cursed Womb: Death Paintings. Kenjaku fused Noritoshi Kamo’s blood with these cursed wombs, causing incarnated Death Paintings like Choso to inherit the Kamo clan’s Blood Manipulation technique and recognize Noritoshi as their genetic progenitor. His deeds provoked universal revulsion—records were obliterated, and even his cursed offspring despised him. Visually, he presented as an aged man with slicked-back dark hair, a mustache, a stitched forehead scar, and customary dark yukata. His pre-possession capabilities lack documentation.
**Noritoshi Kamo (Modern)**
A contemporary sorcerer, he debuted as the Kamo clan heir and Kyoto Jujutsu High third-year. He wielded the clan’s Blood Manipulation technique, holding semi-grade 1 rank. Tall with gray, often-shut eyes and black hair, his initial conservative hairstyle and modified dark-blue school uniform reflected his heir status. After Kenjaku (masquerading as the ancestor) dethroned him by appointing a new heir, he adopted short hair and combat gear: a black turtleneck, protective breastplate, and waist guard for arrows.
Personality shifts stemmed from family demands. Early on, duty-bound and stoic, he embraced Kamo conservatism, even consenting to execute Yuji Itadori to preserve his standing. His core drive was reuniting with his clan-separated mother, believing power could restore her. Discovering she formed a new family without him—coupled with losing his heirship—plunged him into desolation and purposelessness, manifesting as battlefield recklessness and willingness to die for comrades.
In the Culling Game’s Sakurajima Colony, he allied with Maki Zenin against Naoya Zenin’s cursed spirit form. Their clash revealed his despair, but Maki—relating to familial rupture—urged him to confront his mother before embracing death. This spurred him to reassess her abandonment.
Tactically astute, he merged archery with Blood Manipulation. Signature moves included Flowing Red Scale (blood-accelerated physical boosts), Crimson Binding (solidified-blood restraints), and Piercing Blood (high-velocity blood rounds). He commanded peers during the Goodwill Event and Night Parade of a Hundred Demons, dueled Megumi Fushiguro and Hanami, and strategized against Kenjaku and Naoya.
His name phonetically matches his ancestor’s but uses distinct kanji. Personal notes: enrolled at Jujutsu High via lineage at age six, studies for TOEIC, prefers coffee, disdains ethnic cuisine, and finds Aoi Todo stressful.
**Relationship Between the Two Noritoshis**
The modern Noritoshi descends distantly from the ancestor. Kenjaku’s possession of the ancestor directly shaped the modern era: while inhabiting Suguru Geto’s body, Kenjaku engineered the modern heir’s exile by posing as the clan forebear. The ancestor’s Kenjaku-driven experiments also birthed the Death Paintings, who share blood ties with both Noritoshis.
