Her family concealed her magical heritage during her upbringing for a normal childhood, though she nurtured an interest in fortune-telling and the occult, later becoming president of Mahora's Fortune-Telling Club. Academically, she ranks among the top students in her class, often downplaying her intelligence compared to peers like Yue Ayase or Nodoka Miyazaki.
Her latent magical abilities emerged during a crisis in Kyoto. Facing supernatural attackers targeting her power alongside Negi Springfield's group, Konoka instinctively healed Setsuna Sakurazaki's severe arrow wound. This act exposed her potential to enemies, resulting in her capture. During the rescue mission, she formed a Pactio with Negi via a direct kiss to reverse a petrification spell affecting him, simultaneously curing others turned to stone at her family estate. This Pactio granted her the artifact "Flabellum Euri" and "Flabellum Australe" – paired fans enabling her to heal any injury within three minutes or cure illnesses within thirty minutes, respectively. The artifact's full power requires the Shinto purification ritual "Ibuki-dono Ooharahe".
