Description
Konoka Konoe hails from a prominent magical lineage; her grandfather is Mahora Academy's dean and her father leads the Kansai Magic Association, having previously been a member of Nagi Springfield's Ala Rubra group. Her family concealed her magical background to ensure a normal childhood.
Cheerful and nurturing, Konoka frequently mediates conflicts within her living group alongside Asuna Kagurazaka and Negi Springfield. Her interests in fortune-telling, the supernatural, and cooking led her to preside over Mahora's Fortune-Telling Club. She shares a notably close relationship with her childhood friend and guardian from Kyoto, Setsuna Sakurazaki. Their bond endured temporary distance after Setsuna blamed herself for failing to prevent Konoka's childhood accident, but they reconciled and later married.
Konoka's latent magical abilities surfaced during a school trip to Kyoto. An attempt to form a Pactio with Negi via a cheek kiss accidentally triggered her powers due to a "Botched Card" incident, awakening her healing potential. Her magic fully manifested when she spontaneously healed Setsuna's combat injury and later reversed petrification effects on Negi through a direct kiss, establishing a permanent Pactio contract. This granted her the artifact "Regina Medicans" – an onmyōji outfit equipped with paired fans, Flabellum Euri and Flabellum Australe, capable of healing injuries occurring within three minutes.
In the Summer OVA, Konoka appears during a magical mishap where Nodoka Miyazaki and Yue Ayase accidentally bind Nodoka and Negi together with a red string. Her established supportive role within the class remains evident.
Following her initial power awakening, Konoka trained under Negi and Evangeline A.K. McDowell, developing basic spells and healing incantations. Her Pactio abilities expanded to include reviving mortally wounded individuals by temporarily releasing her soul, though this left her severely drained afterward. Her healing prowess advanced sufficiently to treat a dragon once daily. Konoka married Setsuna, and their descendants include Honoka and Isana Konoe.
