Description
Ralph, designated SPARTAN-103, was born circa 2511 and conscripted into the SPARTAN-II program around 2517 at age six. He trained on Reach under Chief Petty Officer Franklin Mendez and the AI Déjà. In 2525, he received physical augmentation procedures that proved only partially successful; his body rejected certain enhancements, leaving him superior to baseline humans but inferior to fully augmented SPARTAN-IIs.

Weeks after augmentation, Ralph joined a rebellion with SPARTANs including Daisy-023 and Joseph-122. They took trainers hostage, demanding freedom—a demand Dr. Catherine Halsey ultimately granted. Escaping Reach as stowaways, Ralph returned to his homeworld to discover a flash clone replacement. Finding the clone critically ill, Ralph suffered a psychological breakdown and killed it. He was recaptured alongside Daisy and returned to Reach.

Discharged from the SPARTAN-II program due to psychological instability from this event, Ralph was adopted into a civilian family. Irreversible physiological changes from the augmentations made his appearance distinct from peers. During this time, he exhibited bullying behavior toward weaker children, behavior dismissed as a temporary phase rather than a long-term pattern.

Despite his diminished augmentations, Ralph retained enhanced physical abilities. He later enlisted in the UNSC Marine Corps, serving during the Human-Covenant War. During combat on an unspecified world, Covenant forces pinned down Ralph and a group of Marines. Daisy-023, deployed nearby, attempted to aid their retreat. After Daisy sustained fatal injuries from Needler fire, Ralph and the Marines boarded a Pelican dropship to evacuate. The Pelican was destroyed by a fuel rod projectile, killing all aboard, including Ralph.

An Office of Naval Intelligence scientist later documented details of Ralph’s life and societal reintegration in correspondence with a colleague.
