Description
Chirico Cuvie originated as an artificially created human, a laboratory-engineered super soldier endowed with regeneration, heightened senses, and subconscious environmental manipulation favoring survival. These traits classified him as an "abnormal survivor" or "Overman." Enlisted at age 16 into the Gilgamesh Confederation military, he became a child soldier later transferred to the elite Red Shoulder Battalion under Colonel Yoran Pailsen. There, he endured extreme conditioning that suppressed emotional expression.
His defining moment occurred during a mission to retrieve a capsule containing the mysterious woman Fyana. This discovery triggered betrayal by his unit, capture and interrogation by Gilgamesh forces, and his eventual escape, igniting a quest for truth. Pursued by military factions, secret societies, and rivals coveting Fyana—a fellow artificially enhanced "Perfect Soldier"—he navigated war-torn landscapes: the lawless Uoodo City, Kummen jungles, Sunsa desert, and Quent. He gradually uncovered his engineered destiny to replace Wiseman, the ancient AI overseeing the Astragius Galaxy.
Initially characterized by emotional detachment and stoicism—often perceived as more machine-like than Fyana—his experiences fostered gradual change. Bonds formed with civilians like salvager Gotho and merchants Vanilla and Coconna softened his demeanor, though he remained reserved. His relationship with Fyana evolved from obsession into mutual devotion, becoming his core motivation through conflicts. Ultimately, he rejected his preordained role as Wiseman's successor, destroying the AI to secure human autonomy.
Chirico's combat prowess manifested through exceptional resourcefulness and adaptability. As an Armored Trooper pilot, he favored the Scopedog but frequently switched vulnerable units mid-battle, relying on tactical ingenuity over durability. His survival abilities defied conventional limits: he rapidly recovered from injuries like gunshots and fractures, endured environmental extremes such as Sunsa's desert, and survived catastrophic events including space station impacts. This resilience, combined with improbable luck evading fatal outcomes, fueled persistent theories of his immortality, though conclusive proof remained elusive.
Following Wiseman's destruction, Chirico entered cryogenic suspension with Fyana, seeking peace. Later awakenings thrust him into renewed conflicts, involving factions like the Alegium and the Secret Society. After Fyana's death in subsequent events, he resumed a solitary existence, wandering the galaxy as a perpetual survivor outlasting allies and enemies. His legacy earned him monikers like "The Untouchable," reflecting his enduring, enigmatic presence across eras.
