Description
Gemini Saga, originally a Gemini Gold Saint, developed a fractured dual personality after an infantile merger with the malevolent spirit Lemur. This split divided his inherent loyalty and benevolence from a power-lusting tyrannical alter ego. His dark persona believed Earth required his dominion, demanding the eradication of other gods including Athena. Denied the Papacy by Shion, who sensed his inner darkness, Saga's evil side manifested fully, compelling him to murder Shion and usurp his identity as the false Pope. Attempting to assassinate the infant Athena with a golden dagger from Cronus, his plot was thwarted by Sagittarius Aiolos. For thirteen years as the impostor Pope, Saga controlled the Sanctuary, orchestrating events like the Galaxian Wars, ordering rebellious Bronze Saints eliminated, and mentally dominating allies like Leo Aiolia.

During the Hades arc, Saga's spirit was resurrected alongside other deceased Gold Saints under Hades's command as part of former Pope Shion's ruse. Their covert mission was infiltrating the Underworld to deliver Athena's divine cloth. Saga fought alongside Cancer Deathmask, Capricorn Shura, and Aquarius Camus across the Sanctuary, culminating in a confrontation with Virgo Shaka where they unleashed the forbidden Athena Exclamation. Declaring their true allegiance to Athena, Saga and the others reached Elysion, sacrificing their spirits to destroy the Wailing Wall and clear the path for the Bronze Saints to Hades's temple.

Freed from Hades's influence within Elysion, Saga's spirit reappeared alongside his sacrificed comrades. He collectively channeled their residual cosmos to bolster the Bronze Saints' final assault against Hades.

Saga's past includes imprisoning his twin brother, Gemini Kanon, at Cape Sounion after Kanon proposed overthrowing Athena. During the Titan conflict in Episode G, his evil personality exploited the war to pursue Earth's rule, manipulating figures like Pontos and Cronus. He wielded formidable psychic abilities, such as bending Capricorn Shura's will via the Genrou Maou Ken technique. Brief resurgences of his benevolent self occurred, notably confronting Cronus, though his dark persona consistently reasserted dominance.

His ultimate redemption followed defeat in the Sanctuary. Witnessing Athena's compassion triggered his benevolent personality's resurgence. Overwhelmed by remorse for crimes including Shion and Aiolos's murders, he reclaimed his body and atoned by committing suicide with Athena's staff.
