Description
Louise Fort Drake is a central character in the anime Ginga Tetsudo Monogatari: Eien e no Bunkiten, serving as a member of the Space Defense Force's Sirius Platoon. She is an eighteen-year-old woman with short brown hair and blue eyes. Born into a wealthy and influential family, she is the daughter of President Drake, the leader of the Clarious Stellar Cluster. Despite her privileged upbringing, she chose to forge her own path by enlisting in the SDF, graduating at the top of her class from the training academy. She is assigned to the Sirius Platoon as the radar and communications operator aboard the locomotive Big One.

Louise is highly intelligent and athletic, consistently demonstrating competence in both physical and technical tasks. She is a diligent worker who takes her duties seriously and generally adheres to orders, even when she privately disagrees with them. Her personality is marked by a strong-willed and sometimes headstrong nature, which initially brings her into conflict with her fellow new recruit Manabu Yuuki. However, she also has a warm and teasing side, frequently playfully ribbing Manabu as they grow closer. She does not flaunt her abilities and remains approachable despite her achievements.

Her motivations are rooted in a desire to prove her own worth separate from her father's influence. She had a difficult childhood with President Drake, who was emotionally distant and ruled with cold pragmatism rather than compassion. This estrangement drives her to seek purpose and belonging within the SDF. Over the course of the series, her relationship with her father evolves when she saves his life during a critical mission, leading him to recognize his mistakes and prompting a tentative reconciliation.

Louise's role in the story is as a core member of the Sirius Platoon, often providing steady judgment and technical expertise during missions. She is the only human female crew member in the platoon. Her key relationships include a close bond with Manabu Yuuki, which develops from initial friction into mutual respect and a romantic undertone; by the end of the first season, they begin dating. She also works alongside Captain Schwanhelt Bulge, whom she respects as a leader, and the rest of the platoon, including the combat specialist Bruce J. Speed and pilot David Young.

Her character development centers on learning to balance her strict professionalism with empathy and vulnerability. Initially, she keeps her emotions tightly controlled, but as she grows closer to her teammates, she opens up and finds a sense of family within the platoon. Her notable abilities include exceptional marksmanship, strategic thinking, and proficiency in radar and communications systems, making her an invaluable asset in both combat and support roles. Throughout the series, Louise remains a disciplined yet caring officer, evolving from a privileged recruit into a dependable and compassionate guardian of the Galaxy Railways.
