TV-Series
Description
Kanipan, a young inventor residing on the artificial planet Sharaku, begins his journey holding the lowest C-Level license at age ten. Inspired by a childhood encounter where a stranger claiming to be an inventor repaired his toy, he aspires to achieve the highest TAISHI-Level license. Early setbacks, including a temporary demotion, challenge him, but he regains B-Level status through satisfactory work. His unconventional problem-solving sparks sudden ideas expressed through phrases like "I wonder if something like this could happen?" and "I have an idea!", enabling him to devise solutions using everyday phenomena. He collaborates closely with his Interface Robot, Kid, who assists in implementing inventions and later serves as his caretaker.
Five years later, at age fifteen, Kanipan has advanced to an A-Level inventor, working as a freelance IT engineer while continuing his pursuit of the TAISHI license. His life shifts dramatically during Planet Sharaku's 200th anniversary when he encounters Angelica, an amnesiac girl whose crashed spacecraft signals an impending planetary threat. This discovery propels him into conflict, where his inventions become vital for survival. During this crisis, adolescent traits emerge: obliviousness to the affections of his childhood acquaintance Milk and a growing romantic attraction to Angelica, creating emotional complexity. His role evolves from inventor to protector as he aids Angelica's memory recovery and counters the dangers facing Sharaku.
By the conclusion, Kanipan attains the TAISHI-Level license, recognized for his ingenuity and critical role in averting disaster. His departure from Sharaku marks a new phase, though companions including Angelica, Milk, Igor, and Ravioli stow away on his ship without his initial knowledge. His name originates from "kanipan" (crab bread), inspired by the screenwriter's encounter with the snack.
