OVA
Description
Michiru Saotome steps into the role of acting director for the Saotome Institute after her father relinquishes leadership following a significant time-skip. As Dr. Saotome's daughter and Tatsuhito's sister, she shoulders responsibility for the Institute during a conflict with supernatural entities called Oni. Her appearance transforms over time: initially shown with short brown hair, she later adopts a more mature look featuring waist-length hair, typically wearing a blue dress beneath her white lab coat. After the Institute's destruction, her attire shifts to dark clothing, including a black flat hat and sunglasses.

She exhibits a serious and cold demeanor, contrasting with friendlier portrayals of her counterparts elsewhere. This stems from a deeply strained relationship with her father, worsened by traumatic events involving her brother Tatsuhito. Her primary focus becomes the scientific study of the Oni, pursued with intense dedication—potentially to identify weaknesses or distance herself emotionally from her father's legacy. She views the Getter Team pragmatically, considering them hired muscle necessary against the Oni but primarily valuable for advancing her father's technological work. Team members reciprocate with nicknames like Ryoma's "Oni Musume" (Demon Daughter) and Benkei's "Kannon-sama" (Goddess of Mercy), reflecting their complex dynamic.

Michiru possesses advanced expertise in biology, specializing in Oni physiology and behavior through direct sample collection and battlefield analysis. She also contributes to mechanical and energy-based advancements, aiding upgrades to the Getter Robo's systems. Her leadership proves critical during the Getter Robo's three-year disappearance, managing the Institute amidst governmental disputes and escalating threats from adversaries like Abe no Seimei and the Four Heavenly Kings. Throughout this period, she coordinates the Getter Team's reintroduction and monitors the Getter Robo's performance milestones.

Surveying the ruins of the Saotome Institute after the final battle alongside Hayato and Benkei, she contemplates Ryoma's unexplained disappearance and the team's unresolved fate, underscoring her enduring connection to the Institute's legacy and the ongoing mysteries surrounding the Getter Robo's impact.
