Description
Chitose serves on the Akashic Record Reform Committee (ARRC), an antagonistic faction focused on eliminating zombies and record anomalies. Outwardly calm and composed, he masks volatile, self-centered tendencies that surface when provoked. Minor irritations—such as tardiness at meetings—trigger aggressive outbursts, often escalating to violent assaults with his signature darts. He shows respect to superiors but treats subordinates with indifference or cruelty, dictated by his fluctuating moods.
His core drive is avenging Carmella, a fellow ARRC member slain by Michiru Kita. This fixation fuels his relentless pursuit of Michiru. During a clash with Chika Akatsuki, Chitose sustains a critical eye injury, resulting in permanent damage that requires him to wear an eyepatch.
Chitose wields the "Dart of Destiny," a mind-control ability forcing victims to act against their will upon being struck. He deploys this power against Zen Inubashiri, brainwashing him into attacking allies.
After the ARRC leadership's defeat and the resolution of the Akashic Records conflict, Chitose abandons his vendetta and aligns with Michiru Kita's group. This shift includes permitting Michiru to temporarily inhabit his body, signaling newfound trust and cooperation. He later appears alongside Michiru in non-hostile settings.
