Runo Misaki is a prominent Haos brawler featured across multiple Bakugan series. Introduced at age twelve and ranked sixth globally in the original Bakugan Battle Brawlers, she manages her family's café. Fiercely competitive and headstrong, she frequently clashes with others, particularly Dan Kuso, when underestimated. Her primary partner is Haos Tigrerra, evolving into Blade Tigrerra during a crucial Doom Dimension test where Runo confronts past illusions. This experience teaches her teamwork, reduces her stubbornness, and strengthens her bond with Tigrerra. Runo harbors unspoken romantic feelings for Dan, leading to a park date in the first season's finale. She participates in key battles against Naga and the Doom Beings, employing an aggressive, low-strategy style that sometimes causes losses, nearly prompting her retirement after Bakugan are sent to the Doom Dimension. In Bakugan Battle Brawlers: New Vestroia, Runo's role lessens but remains significant. Left behind when Dan departs for New Vestroia, her frustration grows over his absence. In episode 10, "Surprise Visitor," she impulsively travels to Moscow with Julie Makimoto, using Alice Gehabich's gateway to reach New Vestroia without a physical body. This action inadvertently fractures the Resistance, forcing Dan, Mira Fermin, and Baron Leltoy back to Earth to stabilize her condition and complicating Beta City's liberation. Stranded on Earth, she shows increased maturity with Dan, though her temper resurfaces when misinterpreting his criticism, leading her to recklessly pursue the Vexos alone. She temporarily partners with Baron Leltoy's Haos Nemus after losing Blade Tigrerra to Spectra Phantom, reuniting with Tigrerra by season's end. Tigrerra later chooses to limit brawling to protect Runo, overriding Runo's desire to join the final battle against King Zenoheld. Runo makes no direct appearances in Bakugan: Gundalian Invaders, featured only in a flashback and a group photograph with Dan and Julie. In Bakugan: Mechtanium Surge, Runo returns at age eighteen as technical support, having studied Vestal technology. She assists Mira Fermin in deploying Battle Suits to frontline brawlers. She briefly partners with the Haos Bakugan Aerogan against Wiseman and Mechtogan threats, though Aerogan later returns to New Vestroia. Runo faces mortal danger when Mechtavius Destroyer annihilates Bakugan City, an event reversed via time travel. In the revised timeline, she coordinates Battle Suit logistics during the final conflict against Mag Mel and attends Dan's celebration afterward. Outside the main anime, Runo appears in the video game Bakugan Battle Brawlers: Battle Trainer, guiding an amnesiac Dan through Bakugan care tutorials.
