Description
Nozomi Nakamura, occasionally spelled Takamura, attends Shin Koshigaya High School. She possesses medium-length blond hair adorned with a pink flower hairpin on her left bangs and green eyes. Initially drawn to the school by its perceived baseball prowess, she discovered only seven team members – insufficient for proper games. After Shiragiku Oomura observed her and Yomi Takeda approached her, she met the team. Introducing herself as a first baseman and outfielder, Nozomi firmly declared she wouldn't join the club. Yoshino Kawaguchi noted her valuable left-handedness, a rarity on the team.
During practice, Nozomi displayed exceptional hitting against high-speed pitching machines, returning every pitch directly to the pitcher. She credited this skill to her comfort with machines and revealed her previous life in Fukuoka, a region famed for its passionate baseball culture. A family move forced her to leave friends behind, along with a shared promise to reunite at the national baseball tournament. She openly doubted Shin Koshigaya's understaffed team could achieve this. However, witnessing Yomi Takeda's pitching and hearing Yoshino's assessment that the team could realistically reach the national top four prompted Nozomi to reconsider. She committed to joining the club and pursuing the national tournament alongside them.
Following her decision to join, a competitive dynamic ignited with Shiragiku Oomura after Shiragiku hit a long-distance ball on her very first practice swing. This moment cemented Shiragiku as Nozomi's rival. Her Fukuoka roots and the promise to her former friends became driving forces in her dedication to the team's efforts.
