Description
Shoryu belongs to the Fuma Clan and is the twin brother of Kou, sharing identical blue hair, brown eyes, and a dark blue uniform. He maintains a calm, controlled demeanor, showing deep respect for clan comrades and loyalty central to his character, evident in his grief over Kirikaze's death and willingness for self-sacrifice.
During the Yasha Chapter, Shoryu arrives with Rinpyo to fight the Yasha Clan. He uncovers Yasha General Byakko's deception, as Byakko impersonated Kou within the Fuma ranks. Spotting discrepancies in Byakko's appearance and behavior, Shoryu confronts and defeats him using his signature feather-based technique, Byakkujin. This technique launches precisely controlled feathers of white, blue, red, and black, each with distinct properties. Shoryu and Kou never formally interacted due to the impersonation.
Three months after the Sacred Sword War, in the Fuma Rebellion Chapter, Shoryu opposes the renegade Shinsei Fuma Clan alongside loyalists Kirikaze and Ryuho. The rebellion, led by the mind-controlling Shimon, forces clan members into internal conflict. Shoryu intervenes to save Ryoma from Shimon's control, deliberately sacrificing his own life to break the mental manipulation. This act ensures Ryoma's survival but results in Shoryu's death, making him the last primary Fuma protagonist to perish.
Shoryu's relationships with comrades like Kojirō, Ryoma, and Kirikaze highlight his role as a dependable, selfless ally. His primary enmity targets Byakko for killing Kou and Shimon for instigating the rebellion. Shoryu never uses bladed weapons, relying solely on his feather techniques, distinguishing him from most clan members. His character arc concludes with his sacrificial death, resolving his commitment to protecting comrades and clan unity.
