Description
Shunrai Yamamoto is the vice-captain of the Takeda Bushi band, serving directly under Naotora Takeda. She has striking blue hair styled in two exceptionally long braids reaching her knees, blue eyes, and wears glasses. Her distinctive outfit consists of a jumpsuit revealing significant cleavage and a scar on her chest, complemented by leg warmers, fingerless gloves, geta sandals with a single tooth, and occasionally an open shirt.
Her personality is consistently upbeat and positive, maintaining optimism even in difficult situations. During the Tatsuyama Town arc, she arrives with the Takeda Bushi to confront the Kishin threat. Observing Musashi's combat style, she questions alongside Aoshi Sanada whether his wild techniques qualify him as a true bushi. After noting Musashi's ineffective attacks against the Kishin, she intervenes, using her whip to pull him to safety. When Musashi resists her restraint, she warns him against self-injury, though he breaks free by ripping the whip. She later joins the victory celebration after the Engoku Tengu's defeat.
In combat, Shunrai wields both a whip and a kitetsu sword, with abilities suggesting a green "Color of the Soul" affiliation. The scar visible on her chest during combat is noted as a symbol of her resilience and courage as a bushi.
