Chip, known as Light Gaia, is a primordial force embodying light, day, and rebirth, existing since time’s inception as the counterbalance to Dark Gaia. Their eternal dance sees Dark Gaia obliterating the world every ten millennia, with Chip rebuilding it through Gaia Temples and Chaos Emeralds to preserve cosmic equilibrium. When Dr. Eggman’s meddling triggers Chip’s premature awakening in *Sonic Unleashed*, retrograde amnesia leaves him disoriented. Discovered by Sonic, he adopts the name "Chip" after developing an affinity for chocolate chip sundaes, embarking on a quest to reclaim his fractured memories.
Resembling a diminutive anthropomorphic chihuahua, Chip boasts burgundy fur with white muzzle and chest markings, translucent fairy wings for flight, and a green gem pendant.
