Description
Nyakkii Momoyama is a pink anthropomorphic Persian cat featuring a beige face, lighter inner ears, a distinctive forehead tuft, a white muzzle, and a brown nose. She typically wears a light grey long-sleeved shirt under a purple vest, turquoise shorts, and purple sneakers over white and pastel purple striped socks. In summer, her outfit shifts to a white t-shirt with purple stripes, a dark blue denim skirt, and shorter white socks. She sometimes adds a brown cowboy hat. An earlier outfit, worn until episode 13 of her debut series, consisted of a yellow and grey dress with light grey shorts and black flats.

Debuting in the 2012 series *Shimajiro no Wao!* as a replacement for Ramurin, Nyakkii attends Challenge Kindergarten as a kindergartner. She works hard yet shows sensitivity beneath a tomboyish exterior. Resilient against bullies like Zouta Ikeno, she actively resists his behavior. Her competitive nature means she dislikes losing intensely, often becoming emotional or tearful when defeated. She avoids hot environments and cold places and harbors a fear of swimming despite her proficiency in other sports.

Her background includes carpentry skills, demonstrated by repairing a wooden bridge on Challenge Island. She enjoys exploration and sports such as soccer, jump-roping, and tree-climbing. Grapes are her favorite food. She shares her April 4 birthday with Hana-chan and Gao-Gao, placing her under the Aries zodiac sign, and has blood type A.

Nyakkii is a close friend of Shimajiro Shimano, sharing interests like soccer. Her friendship circle also includes Mimirin Midorihara, Torippii Sorano, and Kikko Hayashida. Her dynamic with Zouta Ikeno remains conflictual due to his bullying.

She appears in multiple franchise films: *Shimajirō to Fufu no Daibōken: Sukue! Nanairo no Hana* (2013), *Shimajirō to Kujira no Uta* (2014), *Shimajirō to Ōkina Ki* (2015), and *Eiga Shimajirō Miracle-jima no Nanairo Carnation* (2024). In the upcoming *Eiga Shimajirō Shimajirō to Yūki no Uta* (2025), she joins an adventure where Shimajiro and friends are transported to a magical world to help a character named Miley gain confidence.

Her name "Momoyama" combines "peach" (桃) and "mountain" (山), while "Nyakkii" derives from the Japanese onomatopoeia for a cat’s meow (にゃー) and "yellow" (黄).
