Description
Legoshi is the protagonist of his story, a seventeen-year-old student at Cherryton Academy who stands as a towering gray wolf, though his demeanor could not be further from what his powerful physique might suggest. He is a member of the drama club's stage crew, where he works on lighting and scenery, preferring to remain behind the scenes rather than in the spotlight. His physical attributes include gray fur, a height of 185 centimeters that later grows to 187, and a weight of around 71 kilograms, with a notable fondness for collecting and observing insects as well as an interest in weather forecasts.

At his core, Legoshi is defined by a profound gentleness and a deep-seated inner conflict. Despite being a carnivore at the top of the food chain, he is incredibly reserved, introverted, and struggles to express his emotions, which often leads others to misunderstand him. He possesses a strong sense of empathy and a desire to protect the weak, yet he is tormented by his own predatory instincts. This internal struggle is the central axis of his character; he desperately wishes to be a harmless presence in a society where his very nature is a source of fear and tension. He often hides his intimidating traits to better coexist with his herbivore classmates, and his quiet, clumsy nature makes him seem unapproachable to all but his oldest friends.

His motivations are deeply personal and evolve throughout the narrative. Initially, he is driven by a vague sense of guilt and a need to suppress his instincts. This changes dramatically after his confusing encounter with Haru, a dwarf rabbit. His feelings for her are a tangled knot of affection and pure carnivorous desire, and his primary motivation becomes protecting her and understanding the nature of their bond. Furthermore, the murder of his classmate, Tem the alpaca, pushes him to take on a self-appointed mission to find the killer, driven by a quiet sense of justice and responsibility. This quest forces him to confront the darker realities of carnivore nature and pushes him to seek ways to become stronger, not for dominance, but for the sake of protecting others.

Legoshi's role in the story is that of an unlikely hero navigating a world of complex social divides. His key relationships shape his journey significantly. His bond with Haru is the most prominent, a fragile and difficult interspecies romance that forces him to constantly question his own identity. He shares a complex dynamic with Louis, a proud red deer and the star of the drama club. Despite their differences, Legoshi deeply respects Louis, and their relationship evolves from rivalry to a profound, if unconventional, friendship. His childhood friend Jack, a Labrador retriever, is one of the few who truly understands him and provides unwavering emotional support. The giant panda Gohin becomes his mentor, teaching him martial arts and psychological techniques to control his carnivorous urges. He also shares a significant connection with his Komodo dragon grandfather, Gosha, who raised him after the death of Legoshi's hybrid mother, Leano.

Throughout the story, Legoshi undergoes considerable development, growing from a passive, self-loathing wolf into a more decisive and self-aware individual. He confronts his own heritage, discovering he is a hybrid with Komodo dragon traits, including venom immunity and distinctive eyes, though he himself is not venomous. He learns to accept his predatory nature not as an inherent evil, but as a part of himself that must be understood and controlled. This development is physical as well as mental; through rigorous training, his body grows stronger and more capable of combat. He eventually takes on dangerous adversaries, including a bear named Riz who killed Tem, and later a hybrid criminal named Melon, pushing his physical and mental limits to their breaking point.

In terms of notable abilities, Legoshi possesses the natural physical prowess of a large carnivore: immense strength, speed, and agility. His canine physiology grants him powerful jaws with a significant bite force and sharp claws. Due to his unique lineage, he has inherited small, reptilian pupils from his Komodo dragon grandfather and is completely immune to Komodo dragon venom. Under the tutelage of Gohin, he also learns specific martial arts techniques designed to help carnivores subdue opponents without giving in to their instincts to kill. His quiet and observant nature also makes him more perceptive than many of his peers, allowing him to notice small details that others might miss.
