Description
Makoto Shiranui, a soft-spoken student with dark navy hair and hazel eyes, arrives in Tokyo clad in a forest-green school uniform edged in gold, determined to apprentice under illusionist Mamoru Hoshisato. His gentle nature and attentive demeanor mask a quiet resolve, often leading him to mediate conflicts or soothe tensions within the Hoshisato household. A childhood act of bravery—rescuing Mamoru’s daughter Kana from a stray dog—earned him her unwavering admiration as a “Prince,” though their reunion years later fractures this ideal. Mistaken for a girl due to his delicate features, Kana’s initial hostility sparks friction, met by Makoto’s patient efforts to appease her, including a self-sacrificing offer to leave the estate.

Adapting to his new life, he assumes unexpected responsibilities as a household butler, a role crafted by the staff to bridge his presence with the family’s intricate dynamics. Between serving tea and navigating formalities, he quietly observes Mamoru’s craft and interacts with figures like the enigmatic Yumemi, all while clinging to his dream of mastering magic. His name echoes his essence: “Makoto” (真) embodies sincerity, while “Shiranui” (不知火) evokes the ethereal glow of sea fire—a fitting metaphor for his calm warmth and steadfast determination to illuminate his path without scorching those around him.
