Description
Iori Motohashi is a character from the multimedia project Charisma, recognized as the Charisma of Obedience. He is 23 years old, with a birthday on October 9. Physically, Iori has a small build and fair skin, standing 169 centimeters tall and weighing 53 kilograms. He has short, dark blue hair with messy crossed bangs and black eyes. His typical outfit is elaborate, consisting of a white long-sleeved shirt with a dusty rose geometric pattern, a standing collar, and dark forest-green high-waisted slacks. He accessorizes with a black collar featuring a gold ring, black wristbands with gold spikes, and a large belt buckle inscribed with the character for obey or submit. He resides in room 103 on the first floor of the share house, a location intentionally chosen for its proximity to the washing room.

In his role within the house, Iori takes charge of all cooking, laundry, cleaning, and general housekeeping. His defining personality trait is his desire to be ordered around, a compulsion so strong that he has been known to have people sign contracts allowing him to act as their slave. He is a self-described masochist who insists on helping everyone, often going to extreme lengths to ensure the happiness and health of his friends, acting as a dedicated caretaker. Despite his outwardly blunt demeanor, his core drive is to make others happy through selfless service. However, this seemingly submissive nature has a possessive edge; he dislikes it when others rely on anyone else, revealing a contradictory need to be the sole object of their dependence. Iori frequently makes self-deprecating statements, calling himself empty and a worthless person, expressing that he needs to fill this internal void by taking orders and devoting his life to serving others. He is noted to be surprisingly self-aware, even as he actively ignores his own personal needs and problems.

The motivations behind Iori's behavior are rooted in this deep-seated sense of emptiness, which he has felt for as long as he can remember. Serving others is not merely a preference but a perceived life purpose. When the other residents do not rely on him, he becomes hysterical, feeling as though his reason for living is being taken away, a reaction his housemates find unsettling. His entire existence is framed around being of use, from the first thing he does each morning, which is to start the washing machines, to his solo songs. For instance, his song A Solitary Tribute Death features a title that plays on the word for service, substituting the character for death to imply dedicating his body and life until death. His lyrics further reinforce this worldview, with lines like life is short, devote yourself, slave.

Key relationships significantly affect Iori, particularly his childhood friendship with Kei Sarukawa. A significant source of conflict arises from his older sister. When she once came to visit him, Iori became avoidant, shutting himself in his room and refusing to follow any orders, suggesting a complex and possibly painful family history. Despite his intense drive to serve, his personal living space is notably disorganized and messy, a stark contrast to the meticulous chores he performs for the house, indicating he may disregard his own personal affairs. Over the course of the story, Iori has achieved both a Charisma Break and a Shinjuu Break, marking key moments of personal development or transformation. His abilities are not supernatural but relate directly to his Charisma of Obedience. This manifests as an intense, almost superhuman capacity for domestic service and an unwavering, literal devotion to following orders, which he uses to define his interactions and his very sense of self.
