Description
Altena Edgardo Latis, also known as Altena Elgard Ratis, is the princess of the kingdom of Elgard. She summoned the pro-wrestler Genzo Shibata from another world to eliminate the demon beasts menacing her realm. Upon his arrival, she commanded him to slay the Demon King and exterminate the beasts. He refused and subjected her to a German suplex, exposing her underwear to the royal court. This incident earned her the nickname "Shirihime" or "Princess Buttocks" among her servants and subjects.
Physically, Altena appears as an elegant woman with long blond hair styled in pigtails and green eyes. She typically wears a pure-white dress featuring a high-low skirt and pink shoulder pads, complemented by white long gloves and flats. Her undergarments consist of white stockings, a suspender belt, and panties.
Personality-wise, Altena initially presents a delicate, polite, calm, and soft-spoken princess demeanor. Beneath this facade, she harbors deep prejudice against all non-human beings, including demon beasts and beastmen. She demonstrates bossiness, arrogance, and insistence, imposing her will through violence or murder if necessary. This ideological stance fuels her enforcement of a "Humanity Supremacy Regime" in Elgard. After repeated humiliations involving physical confrontations with Genzo that result in public underwear exposure, she develops a masochistic fetish, deriving pleasure from the shame of these incidents in the anime adaptation.
As high-priestess, Altena commands potent sacred magic rituals performed alongside her priests. Her abilities include interdimensional summoning—used to bring Genzo to her world—and divine protection magic, such as a ritual intended to strip Genzo of his love for animals. This act prompted the vampire Carmilla to curse Altena and her priests, magically compelling them to reveal their underwear to anyone of the opposite sex. Despite sufficient physical strength for wrestling, she never achieves victory in such confrontations.
Throughout the narrative, Altena persistently seeks to compel Genzo to fulfill her original mission of eradicating demon beasts. Her efforts frequently lead to physical altercations resulting in further embarrassing exposures of her underwear. She also attempts to enforce compliance through magic, though these actions typically backfire, exacerbating her struggles against Genzo's resistance and complications from other characters. Her ideological conflicts, personal humiliations, and unexpected psychological developments receive greater exploration in the anime prequel.
