ONA
Description
Nakime is a human Jedi Padawan featured in the short film The Bird of Paradise, part of the third volume of the anime anthology series. Headstrong and passionate by nature, she enters a lightsaber duel with a Sith named Aman, who mocks her for still being a student. During the fight, Nakime acts rashly in an attempt to protect her master, resulting in Aman slashing across her face and blinding her. Thrown from the battlefield into a dense forest, Nakime awakens disoriented and without her sight. Her master is absent, and she finds herself alone, stripped of her lightsaber and forced to rely only on her connection to the Force. Over the course of five days, Nakime undergoes a profound internal journey, moving through stages of grief and doubt as she grapples with her new reality. She is guided by a series of visions, including one of a Force spirit in the form of a frog, who encourages her to see with her heart rather than her eyes. Nakime eventually confronts a personification of her own darker impulses, learning that the Jedi way is not about rejecting such tendencies but accepting them as part of a whole. By opening herself fully to the Force, she gains a new kind of sight, one that transcends physical vision. Nakime emerges from the wilderness transformed, having learned to trust the Force as her guide and to accept both her strengths and weaknesses. Her key relationships include her Jedi master, who initially rescues her from Aman, and the Sith enemy who changed her life. Her notable ability is her deepened connection to the Force, which allows her to perceive the world without eyes, and her growth from a rash Padawan into a more centered and insightful individual.
