Description
Connie Springer hails from Ragako village in southern Wall Rose. He enlisted in the 104th Training Corps aiming for the Military Police Brigade to honor his family and village. Standing 158 cm tall with a slim build, gray eyes, and shaved brown hair, he ranked 8th among trainees due to physical prowess and balance, despite academic struggles. His innate skill with vertical maneuvering equipment prompted him to call himself a genius.

Early on, Connie exhibited an outgoing, impulsive nature, frequently joking with cadets like Sasha Blouse, forging a tight friendship. Witnessing Eren Yeager defeat Jean Kirstein motivated him to train more seriously. During a wilderness exercise, he aided in rescuing Christa Lenz from thieves who stole their gear, proving his loyalty. He later helped Sasha hunt a boar for a cooking contest after she fought with Jean.

After graduation, Eren’s speech inspired Connie to join the Survey Corps. His first battle unfolded in Trost District, where he joined the desperate resupply mission to headquarters. He assisted in retrieving a stranded Mikasa Ackerman and supported Armin Arlert during a catatonic state, defending him from Ymir’s scorn.

The Clash of the Titans arc became a turning point. When Titans breached Wall Rose, Connie returned to Ragako to find his village abandoned and his mother transformed into an immobile Pure Titan that weakly greeted him. This Titan retained human features but lacked facial flesh, exposing teeth and gums. Hange Zoë confirmed the entire village’s Titan transformation, advancing Titan-origin research. The trauma eroded Connie’s optimism, fueling rage and vengeance.

Connie’s mental state worsened through later conflicts. Learning Reiner Braun and Bertolt Hoover were traitors, coupled with Sasha Blouse’s death, intensified his grief. Desperate to restore his mother, he plotted to feed Falco Grice to her. He abducted Falco under false pretenses and nearly executed the plan at Ragako, holding Falco at knifepoint when confronted by Armin and Gabi Braun. He relented only after Armin offered himself as substitute, reminding Connie of his mother’s wish for him to become a soldier she could be proud of.

In the final conflict, Connie allied with former enemies to stop Eren Yeager’s Rumbling. His appearance had shifted: he stood taller with slightly longer hair and sharper features. He wore a black uniform with anti-personnel vertical maneuvering equipment during the Raid on Liberio and fought to prevent global annihilation.
