Description
A member of Kabru's adventuring party, Mickbell is a half-foot who also goes by the name Mick. He grew up in the slums, and his background instilled in him a sharp, street-smart survival instinct. Resourceful and pragmatic, he is not above flattering or deceiving others if it helps him get ahead or avoid danger. Despite this calculating side, he can also be cowardly and childish, often complaining or attempting to flee from situations he perceives as threatening. His primary motivation is financial security; his dream is to save enough money to buy a large house where he can live comfortably with his kobold employee and surrogate family member, Kuro. This dream drives much of his behavior, including his stinginess. In Kabru's group, Mickbell serves as a scout or a supporting member, though his contributions are often colored by his self-preservation instincts. His most significant relationship is with Kuro, whom he rescued from a slave trader and now acts as his bodyguard. The two are almost always seen together. Mickbell also has a notable dynamic with the other half-foot, Chilchuck Tims, as he avoids joining the Half-Foot Union that Chilchuck organizes, viewing such offers with suspicion. Over the course of the story, his relationship with his party and his interactions with other adventurers reveal layers of loyalty beneath his selfish exterior, and his bond with Kuro in particular shows a capacity for genuine care and dedication. In terms of abilities, as a half-foot, he is small and nimble, which, combined with his cautious and observant nature, makes him adept at navigating dangerous dungeon environments and avoiding traps. He is also skilled at reading social situations and people, using his wits to negotiate tricky encounters.
