Description
Jester Garandros is the sixteenth Wizard King in the history of the Clover Kingdom, appearing as a primary antagonist in the film Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King. He is a slim young man with distinctive lilac, fluffy hair and sharp orange eyes, often wearing a smirk that reflects his demeanor. His attire includes white fur garments decorated with numerous badges and pointed brown shoes.

Born into a noble family, Jester grew up with privilege and faced no hardships in his early life due to his status. His exceptional magical talent allowed him to become a Magic Knight, where he formed a close friendship with two fellow knights: Tenor, who came from a remote village near the Diamond Kingdom, and Raid, who hailed from the Common Realm. Despite their vastly different social standings, the three became inseparable comrades who pushed each other to improve.

After being promoted to captain of a Magic Knights squad, Jester faced his first major tragedy when Tenor's village was attacked by the Diamond Kingdom. The Clover Kingdom forbade its knights from intervening to avoid triggering a war, but Jester and his friends defied orders and went to save the village themselves. They succeeded, but Tenor lost his life in the process. The loss of his friend drove Jester to climb the ranks relentlessly, determined to become Wizard King so he could prevent such incidents from ever happening again. He achieved this goal and was appointed the sixteenth Wizard King.

Years later, when Tenor's village came under attack again, Jester personally went to defend it, only to discover the assault was an elaborate trap orchestrated by his remaining friend Raid, who had been a spy for the enemy all along and was ordered to assassinate him. Despite the betrayal and his lingering feelings of friendship, Jester killed Raid and ended the attack. Blaming the constant wars between kingdoms for the loss of both his friends, Jester concluded that the only solution was to conquer all four neighboring kingdoms and rule them himself. This campaign, known as the Conquest of the Four Kingdoms, earned him the moniker Mad King. While he gained support from some citizens who desired peace, his growing influence threatened the royalty of the Clover Kingdom, who set a trap that led to his death before he could complete his goal.

In terms of personality, Jester displays a frivolous, jester-like attitude and tends to look down on others he considers beneath him. He speaks in a condescending manner and treats opponents almost like playthings. However, beneath this lighthearted and unpredictable exterior lies a highly calculating and strategic mind. He is an innate battle fanatic who finds genuine joy and excitement in combat itself, constantly analyzing opponents even while joking. Centuries after his death, Jester is revived by the twenty-seventh Wizard King Conrad Leto using the power of the Imperial Sword Elsdocia. Jester happily agrees to assist Conrad in destroying the Clover Kingdom to build a new, better kingdom, seeing the plan as aligned with his own past ambitions.

Jester possesses immense magical power befitting a former Wizard King, capable of contending with multiple Magic Knights captains simultaneously. He is also a master swordsman, able to clash evenly with the renowned swordsman Yami Sukehiro. His primary ability is Barrier Magic, recorded in his three-leaf clover grimoire. This versatile attribute allows him to create barriers for defense, trapping enemies, and sealing off large areas. These barriers are strong enough to block attacks from high-level mages and even resist anti-magic to some degree. Furthermore, Jester can shape his barriers into various weapons, including swords, axes, spears, buzz saws, and even laser cannons that fire powerful beams of light. He can also generate barriers directly from his own body for precise applications, such as stopping bleeding. His notable named spells include Voodoo Shangri-La, which creates a large dark dome that interferes with spatial and communication magic, and Voodoo Regalia, which manifests barrier constructs as regal armaments and weapons. Jester is also a skilled user of Mana Zone, a technique that allows him to manipulate mana in the surrounding area to enhance his mobility and power.
