Sri-mahadevi Lakshmi, also known as Lakshu of Hōraisan, hails from the parallel world Tenkūkai and trains as a fledgling spirit priestess. Her character is inspired by the Hindu goddess Lakshmi. She encounters Shurato upon his transmigration to Tenkūkai, awakening him through direct contact, an act establishing her supportive narrative role early on. Following the petrification of Tenkūkai's leader, Lady Vishnu, by the traitorous advisor Indrah, Lakshmi joins Shurato and the Hachibushu warrior Hyūga. Her journey with them focuses on exposing the conspiracy against Vishnu and seeking a cure. During these events, Lakshmi's latent Sohma powers—Tenkūkai's core spiritual energy—begin to manifest and evolve significantly, enabling her to counter dark energies and bolster the protagonists against the Asura Gods. In the OVA series *Dark Genesis*, Lakshmi confronts intensifying threats. Her growing spiritual capabilities become increasingly vital to challenge the Asura Gods' influence and support restoring balance in Tenkūkai. Her development centers on advancing her mastery of Sohma and fulfilling her duties as a spirit priestess amidst escalating challenges. Her narrative arc consistently emphasizes her connection to spiritual forces and her commitment to aiding the protagonists' quest, without expanding into personal backstory beyond her role within Tenkūkai's mythos.
