Description
Isaku Senagaki is the main protagonist of the story. She is a 15-year-old high school freshman who stands at an average height with a fair complexion and full pink lips. She has waist-length platinum blonde hair with bangs that frame both sides of her face, and soft purple eyes. When at school, she wears the standard white and navy sailor-style seifuku uniform, while at home or on outings she often dresses in casual but feminine clothes.
Isaku’s life was dramatically altered at the age of five when her parents died in a car accident. Following this tragedy, she came under the care of her grandfather, Tasuke Senagaki, who serves as the 3rd Generation Boss of the Senagaki Yakuza Family. Due to her family’s deep connections to the yakuza, Isaku was feared and ostracized by her peers throughout her childhood, which left her unable to make friends and led to difficulties in social situations.
In terms of personality, Isaku is known for her serious but timid disposition. While she can be introverted and socially awkward due to her isolated upbringing, she is not anti-social by nature. She possesses a gentle and shy aura, and is often described as being quiet and reserved. Despite her reclusive tendencies, she demonstrates significant determination and independence, which becomes evident when she takes the initiative to enroll herself in a high school far from her hometown, deliberately choosing a place where no one knows her background.
Isaku’s primary motivation is a deep yearning for a normal life. Having been deprived of ordinary social experiences because of her family's reputation, she dreams of attending high school like any other girl, making genuine friends, and experiencing a typical teenage romance. She is fiercely determined to leave her past behind and reinvent herself as a normal student.
Her role in the story is central, as the entire narrative revolves around her quest for normalcy and her complex relationship with her guardian. A key element of her character is her romantic feelings for Keiya Uto, a young man who was assigned as her bodyguard when she was a child. Isaku met Keiya shortly after moving in with her grandfather; initially wary of him, she burst into tears while crying for her parents. In an effort to comfort her, Keiya embraced her and promised to act as both a mother and father for her, vowing to protect her forever. It was this moment of kindness and comfort that led Isaku to first fall in love with him. She struggles with these feelings throughout the series, initially believing her love is unrequited and feeling the need to hide her emotions due to concerns about how others might perceive their relationship or due to her own insecurities.
Regarding her key relationships, the most significant is undeniably with Keiya Uto. He is not only her protector but also the object of her deep and long-standing affection. Their dynamic is characterized by her often scolding him, particularly when his overprotective behavior becomes excessive or when he treats her too much like a child. Despite these frustrations, he is the person she treasures most. Her grandfather, Tasuke Senagaki, is another important figure, as her life circumstance as his granddaughter is the source of both her isolation and her connection to Keiya.
Over the course of the story, Isaku shows notable development. While she begins as a timid girl who keeps her heart closed off, her resolve to live a normal life drives her forward. Her suspicions about Keiya’s own feelings begin to grow as she observes his attitudes and listens to her classmates, leading her to believe his feelings might mirror her own. As the narrative progresses, Isaku and Keiya eventually begin dating, and they exchange promise rings as a symbol of their commitment to one another. In terms of notable abilities, she does not possess any physical or combat-based skills; rather, her most defining trait is her inner strength and determination to change her circumstances by pursuing an ordinary life despite her extraordinary background.
