TV-Series
Description
Dan Kouzo leads the Awesome Brawlers (formerly the Awesome Ones), a ViewTube content creation group. He has light skin, blue eyes, and spiky brown hair with a natural red streak. His athletic, modern urban style features a red t-shirt, darker red open jacket, dark blue jeans with knee patches, and red-and-white sneakers.
Optimistic, intense, and inclusive, Dan naturally draws others together without consciously seeing himself as a leader. He tackles challenges enthusiastically but can be impulsive and overconfident, especially after wins. Deep loyalty bonds him to closest friends Wynton Styles and Lia Venegas, guided by his rule to resolve conflicts before day's end. He views life as an exploration of his capabilities, not just winning.
His journey starts when the Awesome Ones witness the second Great Collision at Pinpoint Park, partnering him with Pyrus Dragonoid (Drago). The team discovers BakuCore abilities and shares them on ViewTube. Dan later gains more Bakugan partners: Pyrus Cyndeous after protecting him and the Rowdy Reds from Marco Chezanello; Pyrus Gillator as his guardian during Armored Alliance; and the powerful Geogan Arcleon in Geogan Rising. These bonds deepen through battles and shared challenges, including confrontations with anti-Bakugan activist Kravitz and corporate foe AAAnimus.
After the battle against Haavik in Armored Alliance, Drago and the other Bakugan enter extended hibernation to recover. Six months later, in Geogan Rising, Dan lingers over Drago's absence yet maintains his proactive stance. When a destabilized Drome system threatens permanent damage during a battle, Drago unexpectedly returns, revealing the other Bakugan transferred their residual energy to him. This resurgence coincides with emerging threats linked to weakening Earth-Vestroia connections. Dan and Drago immediately investigate these anomalies, encountering new Bakugan like Sharktar and Fenneca on Vestroia's "Junk Island" and inadvertently bringing them to Earth.
Throughout Geogan Rising, Dan navigates the complexities of interdimensional instability while integrating Arcleon into his battling strategies. His leadership faces tests as the Awesome Brawlers investigate post-battle Bakugan disappearances and confront adversaries like Everett, who exploits these phenomena. Despite setbacks like temporary separations from his Bakugan partners, Dan's resolve remains central to the team's efforts to stabilize both worlds.
Dan's evolution continues: In Evolutions, Drago absorbs excess energy from an Elemental Storm, transforming into an Elemental Bakugan alongside other partners. Legends shows Dan adapting to Nova energy transformations after Drago and Blitz Fox return to Earth via the Nova Reflector, further cementing his role in safeguarding Bakugan and humanity.
