Agent Seymour Simmons is a human character in the Transformers live-action film series. He works for or has worked for Sector Seven, a secret government organization dedicated to studying alien life. His family has a long history with the organization, with his great-grandfather being one of its founders or part of the team that originally discovered the Decepticon leader Megatron. Simmons possesses an eccentric, abrasive, and intensely patriotic personality. Despite his odd and often undiplomatic demeanor, he is deeply committed to protecting Earth from extraterrestrial threats. Over time, he experiences a fall from grace, losing his government job after Sector Seven is disbanded and working a mundane job, though he remains obsessed with the truth about Transformers. He has an encyclopedic knowledge of classified alien history and serves as a crucial, if unorthodox, intelligence asset and ally to the protagonists, including Sam Witwicky and the Autobots. His methods are resourceful and improvisational, and he is unafraid to place himself in dangerous situations to help stop the Decepticons.
