Description
Chinu Kawakubo is a prominent water polo player, frequently featured in sports media. She has a muscular yet feminine build, standing 165 cm (5 feet 5 inches) tall, with a fair complexion. Her features include a distinctive beauty mark under her left eye, seafoam-colored eyes, and shoulder-length navy-blue hair styled with bangs swept to the right. She maintains a neat appearance, often seen in her school uniform or casual attire like pink shirts with blue skirts, sometimes accessorized with scarves or large earrings.

Her initial interactions with Minato Kiyomizu stemmed from a bet made during middle school: she promised to date him if he became Japan's top high school water polo player, with failure costing him 11,000 yen. This agreement concealed deeper resentment toward Minato due to his past arrogant behavior, which negatively impacted someone she cared for, fueling her intense dislike. After Minato awakened from a 203-day coma with amnesia, losing memories of his water polo skills and their bet, Chinu revised the agreement. She offered him another chance to become Japan's top player but doubled the penalty to 220,000 yen.

Following Minato's accident and resulting personality shift, Chinu's feelings toward him evolved. She began developing romantic interest in his gentler, post-amnesia self, contrasting sharply with her prior animosity. This change created tension when Minato regained fragments of his memories, as Chinu feared a return to his former demeanor. Her personality blends confidence with protectiveness, particularly toward those she views as family-like figures, demonstrating loyalty and concern for their well-being. This is seen when she supported one individual’s transition from water polo to table tennis without regret.

Chinu attends a different high school than Minato but remains connected to him through their shared history in water polo. Her athletic prominence and media coverage position her as a recurring figure in Minato's efforts to rebuild his athletic identity.
