Description
Shiryu Chou-un operates as a Special A-Rank fighter for Seito Academy, affiliated with the Five Tiger Generals alongside Unchou Kan-u, Ekitou Chouhi, Bachou Mouki, and Kouchuu Kanshou. She inherits the historical title "The Eternal Victorious" from her Three Kingdoms counterpart Zhao Yun, serving as a key protector of Seito's interests and leadership.

Physically, Chou-un possesses long silver hair covering her ears and forehead, rarely opening her eyes during appearances. She stands 170 cm tall with a birthdate of August 4 (Leo zodiac), blood type A, and measurements of 89-59-87. Her standard attire features a brown vest over a white collared shirt, a dark brown skirt with red stripes, knee-high black socks, and brown loafers, distinguishing her from Seito's standard uniform. Certain artistic depictions show a tiger tattoo on her left shoulder blade. When revealed, her eyes resemble feline pupils, suggesting a latent connection to dragon powers.

Chou-un exhibits a calm, kind-hearted personality marked by profound loyalty to Seito's leader Gentoku Ryuubi and strategist Koumei Shokatsuryou. She explicitly states willingness to die protecting Gentoku. Despite her combat skill, she personally believes in avoiding unnecessary violence and bloodshed to resolve conflicts. She executes missions assigned by Koumei with discipline, having obeyed him even before formal introductions, reflecting established trust. Ending credits in later installments subtly imply romantic feelings toward Gentoku, showing her blushing intensely while holding him.

Her combat capabilities rank her among the series' most formidable fighters. She wields the named blade Youtou Muramasa "Zanryuu", executing techniques like "Shiden Issen". Demonstrated feats include effortlessly defeating Teni after Teni's exhausting battle with Shimei Ryomou, and incapacitating an awakened Ryomou with a single strike during a Dragon Jade retrieval mission. She later delivered Ryomou to Hakufu's residence for recovery while securing the Dragon Jade. Chou-un displayed tactical awareness by analyzing Ryomou's fatigue as a factor in their encounter and reporting critical intelligence about dragon manifestations to allies. No opponent is depicted challenging her seriously or damaging her attire across documented engagements.

Key narrative involvement occurs during the Dragon Jade arc. Chou-un intercepted Teni under Koumei's orders, later transferring custody of the artifact to Unchou Kan-u while relaying Koumei's message about meeting "the Crouching Dragon". She intervened during Hakufu Sonsaku's dragon-induced rampage, halted only by Ukitsu's assurance of control. Her responsibilities extend beyond combat, including attempts at traditional arts like bonsai trimming, though she admits lacking skill.

Relationships define her role: unwavering loyalty binds her to Koumei and Gentoku, while mutual respect exists between her and Kan-u despite their rival schools. She acknowledged Kan-u as Seito's strongest combatant in one account. As a reincarnation of Zhao Yun, her soul history references his military legacy—service under Liu Bei and Zhuge Liang, mastery of the spear ("Ferocious Dragon"), near-flawless battle record, and death at age 72. Post-timeskip developments show her continuing protective duties within Seito's command structure.
