Manga
Description
A British maid named Shiori, who is quite childish for her position, finds herself at a loss in Japan after arriving to train in maid service. On a whim to earn a living, she decides to start a tea house with the help of three local high school girls. The cafe, named Mahoroba Kissa, becomes the heart of this gentle comedy as these four unlikely employees work together to run the shop.

The staff is a collection of distinct personalities. Shiori, the self-proclaimed head maid, is the energetic and often clueless manager. Her three employees include Minae, a straightforward girl from the countryside; Mari, a wealthy heiress with a noticeable chest; and Anzu, who is incredibly shy and struggles with making eye contact with customers. The story unfolds in a four-panel comic strip format, following the daily lives, conversations, and humorous mishaps of this quirky team as they serve tea and interact with the shop's patrons.

Mahoroba Kissa began serialization in 2013 in the magazine Manga Life Original before moving to Manga Life MOMO in 2015, where it ran until its conclusion in 2017. The narrative is primarily episodic, focusing on slice-of-life scenarios rather than a single overarching plot. Notable recurring themes include the culture clash of a British maid adapting to Japanese cafe customs, Shiori's often misguided leadership, and a running gag of mildly harassing or risqué jokes that play off the employees' different personalities and body types. The series maintains a lighthearted and relaxed tone, chronicling the simple charm of finding a place of belonging and friendship in a small, unusual tea house.
