A new protagonist finds himself transported to the same strange world of endless skyscrapers and suspension bridges introduced in the original series. This sequel, Tenkū Shinpan arrive, follows a young boy named Senya who dreams of becoming an astronaut. While sitting on his school's roof, he witnesses an impossibly tall tower piercing the sky and is instantly pulled into the parallel dimension.

This realm is the same nightmarish urban landscape ruled by the masked figures known as Angels, who hunt the living under the commands of higher beings called God Candidates. Senya must quickly learn the rules of survival, evading the masked killers while searching for a way to return home. The sequel features new areas within this world and introduces a new cast of characters alongside some returning figures from the original story, continuing to explore the mysteries of the skyscraper world and the true nature of the "gods" who control it.
