Description
When Al was three years old, goblins kidnapped him from his home. His grandfather rescued him using a dazzling display of powerful magic, a sight that utterly captivated the young boy and set the course for his entire life. From that moment, Al became obsessed with magic, dedicating himself to learning everything he could about it. After twelve years of relentless training and study, the fifteen-year-old Al is finally ready to begin his journey as a certified adventurer. His primary goal is to travel across the land in search of the Book of Spells, a legendary and ancient tome believed to hold incredible magical secrets.
Al, whose full name is Alfred Manning, is a slim teenager with shoulder-length blonde hair that he usually keeps tied back in a ponytail. Despite his years of preparation, Al quickly discovers that his approach to magic is far from ordinary, leading those around him to remark that his techniques are strange or that his magic should not work the way it does. His spell repertoire includes a mix of standard offensive and utility magic, such as Magic Arrow, Flash, Unlock, and Illusion. His unorthodox methods and boundless passion for spellcraft become the central point of his adventure, forcing him to constantly prove that his unique style is a strength rather than a flaw.
The world Al inhabits classifies its intelligent species into three main groups: humans, fairy races like elves and dwarves who can coexist with humanity, and barbarian races such as goblins and orcs, who are considered inherently hostile. Al begins his quest in the frontier city of Lester, where he becomes a familiar face at an inn called the Crimson Lamb, run by a former adventurer named Russell and his family, whom Al once saved from bandits. The guild receptionist Quinta and a colorful cast of veteran adventurers and local merchants also populate this bustling frontier town. As the series progresses, Al continues his search for the Book of Spells, taking on various quests that test his abilities and challenge conventional magical theory, all while his peculiar talents draw both curiosity and skepticism from allies and rivals alike.
