A high school student named Akira Himegami awakens from a long cryogenic sleep to find his world has vanished. The city around him is a ruin, ravaged by war. In the time he has been frozen, a global organization called OWEL has seized control of society, and the very concept of marriage has been replaced by a new system known as Elsie.

Disoriented and alone, Akira is soon confronted by an android named Yugure, who bears an uncanny and striking resemblance to his girlfriend, Towasa.
