In the kingdom of Avista, twelve elite sorcerers known as the Paladins serve as the realm's protectors. The story centers on Junk, the son of one of these legendary figures, Jean Whattear, the incarnation of the sun. Overwhelmed by the pressure of living up to his father's legacy, Junk rebels against his predetermined destiny on the day of the ceremony meant to officially make him a sorcerer.
