A first-year high school student named Misuzu begins her freshman year as a normal, nice girl hoping to make new friends. Her plans take an unexpected turn when she meets an eccentric classmate named Shoutaro. Being associated with his odd personality quickly damages her reputation, making other students avoid her. As Misuzu continues to spend time with Shoutaro, she gradually loses her initial normalcy and becomes more liberal and unconventional. Her social circle expands to include a collection of quirky individuals, such as a group of otaku and a stalker. The story unfolds in a Japanese high school setting through a slice-of-life format, with a focus on character-driven comedy rather than deep plot development.
