In the aftermath of a violent battle that saw the disappearance of the insect princess Chiku Hisako, a city once plagued by a terrifying insect infestation has returned to an uneasy normalcy. Ten years after the events of the original horror manga Mushihime, a new nightmare begins to unfold when a man notices a mysterious girl emerging from the water late one night. Her body, from the neck down, closely resembles that of an insect, a grotesque figure that evokes the dark legacy of Hisako.

This sequel, written by Masaya Hokazono and illustrated by Yu Satomi, follows the arrival of this new creature, an ominous being who begins to wreak havoc on the world. The narrative picks up in the same setting as the original story, a world where insect-like monstrosities can appear in human form. The original antagonist, Chiku Hisako, was a “princess of the insects” with the power to seduce humans and insects alike, feeding on people to survive. With her gone, the city had found peace, but the appearance of this new, insect-like girl signals that the horror is far from over. As this mysterious entity makes her presence known, a fresh wave of terror descends, forcing the inhabitants to confront a dark legacy they thought had ended. Debuting on the COMIC OGYAAA!! web manga site in October 2024, the series explores a new chapter of terror linked to the events of the past, setting the stage for a conflict between humanity and a resurrected or successor insect queen.
