Description
One thousand years after the previous gathering, the gods convene for the Divine Council to decide the fate of humanity. Before a final verdict is reached, the Valkyrie Brunhilde intervenes and forces a new resolution: Ragnarok, a thirteen-round tournament where humanity’s greatest champions will fight the strongest gods for the right to survive.

This tournament is the setting of the main series. However, behind the scenes of Ragnarok, another conflict unfolds among the divine ranks themselves. After Zeus, the chairman of the Valhalla Council, unilaterally announces the twelve gods who will represent the heavens, a wave of outrage spreads among the deities who were excluded. To quell the dissent and turn their frustration into a spectacle, Zeus declares the Apocalypse, a separate tournament. Its rule is simple and breaks an ancient taboo: gods may now fight gods.

The prize for the victor of this tournament is the final open slot on the gods’ roster for the Ragnarok tournament. To further inflame their pride, Zeus decrees that the champion will also earn the right to add any single new article to the Valhalla Constitution, the absolute law that governs all divine beings. This promise transforms the dissent into a desperate and violent free-for-all, as gods from every mythology see a chance to rewrite the heavens to their own will.

The tournament features a diverse assembly of divine warriors, each with their own motivations and histories. Among the prominent combatants is the Great Sage Equal to Heaven, Sun Wukong, a wild and free-spirited monkey king who once single-handedly defeated an army of ten thousand celestial soldiers. He fights with his legendary staff, the Ruyi Jingu Bang. In the first round, the Irish demigod and legendary hero Cú Chulainn takes to the arena. Another major figure is the Hindu thunder god Indra, a fierce and battle-hardened deity who refuses to stay down. The roster also includes the vengeful Celtic queen of war, Morrigan, who embodies pure destruction, and the mysterious Nezha, a god created by other gods as a weapon to hunt supernatural threats.

The tournament unfolds through a series of brutal one-on-one matches. In the second round, the radiant sun god Ra Horakhty confronts the brilliant but treasonous Prometheus, whose love for humanity drives him to defy Zeus’s plan. The third round showcases a clash between Indra and the assassination god Suzaku. In this fight, Suzaku uses his precise analytical skills and a cursed sword to counter Indra’s lightning speed, systematically destroying the thunder god’s arm to gain the upper hand. Despite this critical injury, Indra fights on, evolving beyond his limits to complete his ultimate technique, the third blade of his Thunder Buddha Fist. With a supersonic kick that bypasses all defenses, he shatters Suzaku’s chest to claim a hard-fought victory at fourteen minutes and thirteen seconds.

The fourth round introduces Nezha, whose nature as a divine cyborg built to eliminate targets like the rebellious Sun Wukong makes him an emotionless and terrifying opponent. He is set to fight Morrigan, a goddess of pure, irrational violence. Their battle represents a striking contrast between cold, mechanical precision and wild, chaotic power. As the tournament progresses, the selection of the thirteenth god becomes a story of ambition, revenge, and the political turmoil brewing beneath the surface of the main Ragnarok tournament.
