Mikan Sasaki is an office worker in Tokyo who possesses the ability to see spirits, a family trait that made her childhood difficult until a shrine priestess gave her a protective charm. She has secretly harbored feelings for her boss, Akutsu, for four years, observing how he seems perpetually haunted by numerous evil spirits, with one particularly malevolent presence among them.

On her birthday, feeling lonely after working late, Mikan drinks alcohol despite knowing she cannot handle it, becomes disoriented in a park, and finds herself in a dangerous situation with strangers.
