Description
A schoolgirl named Hanaoka Ran is chosen as the winner of her school festival's beauty contest. Surrounded by admiration and celebration during the spring of her victory, her life appears to be at a joyful peak. However, during summer vacation, her body begins to undergo a disturbing and inexplicable transformation. The central horror of the story unfolds as Ran's youthful appearance rapidly deteriorates, and she finds herself physically aging at an unnatural pace. The narrative follows her struggle against this grotesque metamorphosis, exploring themes of decay, lost youth, and bodily horror. The story is a short horror mini-series that originally ran in the magazine Suspiria in March 1993, later collected into a single volume. It is part of a larger collection of horror works by the creator and was also released in English as part of the Hino Horror series under the titles Hino Horror #9 & #10, sometimes also listed under the alternate title Who's that Girl? The setting shifts from the social environment of school and public recognition to the claustrophobic, personal nightmare of Ran's physical breakdown as summer progresses.
