Manga
Description
Set in the Reiwa era, a decade after the end of the Heisei period, the story follows Sumire Tojo, a 31-year-old former idol. Sumire was the leader of the unsuccessful girl group First Lovers, known as Fasuraba. After the group failed to achieve stardom and disbanded, she left the entertainment industry and sank into a self-destructive lifestyle. She now lives alone in a rundown apartment, spending her days drinking, smoking heavily, and gambling on pachinko. She works part-time at a snack bar run by the mother of her younger cousin, but otherwise lives as a near-hikikomori, her life a stark contrast to her former dreams.

Her cousin, Yusei Izumi, is a high school freshman who was Sumire's first fan during her idol days. Unable to watch her waste away, he devises a plan for her to make a comeback. He proposes that she reinvent herself as a doujin idol, starting by selling a self-published cosplay gravure photobook at fan events. Initially hesitant, Sumire is swayed by the promise of easy money and reluctantly agrees. This begins a series of small-scale ventures, including photo shoots, social media promotion, and selling at doujinshi conventions.

The central conflict is Sumire's struggle to reclaim her place in the spotlight despite her own flaws and the harsh realities of the entertainment world. Her efforts attract attention, and she is scouted by Famufata Ninzaburo, the charismatic president of Fam Productions, a female-run agency with a focus on cosplay. Famufata becomes a key business partner, and together with Yusei's shrewd production, Sumire's activities expand from self-published photobooks to collaborative projects and events. As her fame grows, the story brings in a colorful cast from her past and present, including the other members of Fasuraba. Notable among them is Sushi Karma, a former bandmate who is now a 33-year-old, single erotic manga artist, and a cosplayer named Uniko.

The narrative progresses through a series of comedic setbacks and small victories. Major arcs include Yusei's initial struggle to motivate Sumire and sell their first photobook, the chaotic process of producing a joint cosplay book with Famufata, and a memorable storyline where Sumire's gambling addiction leads her into a high-stakes strip mahjong game. A significant turning point occurs during Yusei's school festival, where Sumire and her former bandmates attempt a one-time reunion of Fasuraba on stage, an event that forces her to confront her past failures and the bond she still shares with her old group. The running thread throughout is the sharp contrast between Sumire's striking beauty and her lazy, self-indulgent personality, as she navigates the amateur side of the idol industry, struggling with debt and her own bad habits while striving for a second chance.
