The story follows high school student Nakamura Chizuru, known by her online persona and nickname Chuu-tan. She is an intensely devoted fan of the idol unit LIP×LIP, and her affection is focused entirely on one member, Aizo. Chuu-tan is a hardcore otaku who practices doutankyohi, meaning she refuses to share her oshi with any other fan. She spends her days and her savings on gifts, merchandise, and event attendance, pouring her heart and soul into supporting Aizo alone. To fund her oshikatsu, or fan activities, she works part-time at a maid café, where her cute appearance and clever, attentive service have made her a popular and successful employee. For a time, her life is perfectly balanced between her job and her passion.

This peaceful routine is disrupted when a jealous coworker at the café begins to scheme against her, putting her position and her carefully managed life at risk. A subsequent complication arises when Chuu-tan discovers that Aizo is actually a classmate at her high school. Determined to keep her school life and her fan life separate, she tries to keep her identity as a devoted fan a secret while quietly watching over him. However, her restraint is tested when other girls at school begin to get close to the members of LIP×LIP, introducing new tensions and the threat of romantic rivals into her world. The story follows Chuu-tan as she navigates these challenges, defending her dedication to her oshi while dealing with the real-world complications of her double life as a maid and a student.
