Description
A boy abandoned at birth is taken in and raised by rats in the sewers, developing a unique bond and the ability to communicate with and control them. As he grows, he is found by a homeless man living under a bridge and is gradually introduced to human society. But the cruelty, selfishness, and darkness he witnesses among people leave a deep impression. His own perception of humanity, shaped by his rat upbringing, conflicts with the world around him. Eventually, he vows to become humanity's greatest enemy and uses his power over rats to carry out a campaign of crime and terror. The story follows his journey from a feral child to a feared criminal mastermind, using his rat army to manipulate, steal, and destroy. Along the way, he struggles to define his own version of humanity while being pushed further into a life of crime by the very people he encounters. The narrative explores his psychological turmoil, his bond with the rats, and his escalating confrontations with society. Notable arcs include his early years in the sewers, his brief period of relative normalcy under the homeless man's care, his first uses of rat control for survival, and his eventual rise to infamy as a top criminal. The ending is abrupt and leaves several threads unresolved, reflecting the bleak and cynical tone that runs throughout the series.
